A leading insurance and data firm in Greater London seeks a skilled candidate to join their Business Intelligence team. The role focuses on delivering financial and accounting insights to the (re)insurance industry, with direct involvement in client projects. Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of data analysis, experience with Microsoft Office and Power BI, and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders. Ideal candidates should demonstrate problem-solving skills and attention to detail while working independently.

Joining the Business Intelligence team, you will be responsible for providing financial, accounting, and data-driven insights to the (re)insurance industry and leading strategic client projects directly. Your work will be integral to helping grow Howden Re's client base through innovative data and technology. You will be leading and producing client work, presentations for key stakeholders and you will participate in key decision making to support Howden Re's growing and innovate Business Intelligence team. To be successful, you will need to be able to articulate sophisticated ideas and showcase strategic, financial and commercial insights from the global (re)insurance industry.
- Provide a range of financial and accounting analysis, benchmarking and insights to stakeholders of the industry
- Engage with clients to develop their strategic objectives and execute on deliverables and KPI's
- Deliver financial and strategic reports and discover new opportunities for insights
- Act as a key contact with senior level stakeholders internally to ensure financial insights are delivered
- Develop data strategies to effectively make decisions
- Analyse, interpret and visualise data to deliver insights and solutions to the commercial (re)insurance market.
- Explore competitive market strategies through analysis of a related product and market trends
- Present findings to all levels of management
- An engaging and inquisitive personality, always looking to solve problems and find solutions
- Business acumen and intellectual curiosity
- Experience in building presentations and analysing data in Microsoft Office and Power BI (preferable)
- Knowledge of financial analysis is imperative
- Confidence to work with senior management and present solutions to facilitate opportunities
- Finely-tuned data skills and an awareness of data quality, data integrity checking and reconciliation
- Ability to absorb information and proactively take initiative to problem solving
- Superb attention to detail as well as strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organised self-starter, with drive and dedication; able to finish work with little supervision
- Experience within the (re)insurance industry
- Strong financial / accounting background.
- Understanding of specific accounting standards, such as IFRS 17.
