Vision for Education Ltd. is partnering with Kitts Green Academy in Birmingham to recruit a Youth Worker for a classroom-based role starting October 2026. You will help pupils build confidence, manage behaviour and engage in learning, drawing on youth work, mentoring and sport coaching experience.

The role focuses on creating a calm, supportive learning environment, with emphasis on relationship-building, boundaries, and positive choices to help pupils reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Strong background in youth work, mentoring, behaviour support, sports coaching, residential care or community work.
• Ability to build relationships, set boundaries and engage young people who may have struggled within traditional education.
• You don’t need prior school experience; classroom adaptability and youth-focused approach are valued.

Location: Kitts Green Academy, Birmingham
Daily Rate: £92.56-£105 per day, depending on experience and qualifications

Job Summary

We are working with Kitts Green Academy in Birmingham, a specialist school supporting boys with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, to recruit a confident and resilient Youth Worker to join their team from September 2026.

This role is classroom based and very similar to a Teaching Assistant position, but we are particularly interested in candidates who bring a strong background in youth work, mentoring, behaviour support, sports coaching, residential care or community work.

You don't need to have worked in a school before. What matters is your ability to build relationships, set boundaries and engage young people who may have struggled within traditional education.

The School and Role

Kitts Green Academy is a specialist setting for boys with complex SEMH needs, with some pupils also presenting with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and ADHD.

As a Youth Worker, you will work alongside teachers and experienced support staff to help pupils engage with their learning and develop the skills they need to succeed.

Your role will be about much more than simply helping pupils with their schoolwork. You will become a positive role model and trusted adult, helping young people manage emotions, develop resilience and make positive choices.
