Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a Vocational Instructor for the Education Team at the Skills Academy of Kibble Education and Care Centre. You will work with young people who have experienced trauma, delivering hands-on vocational learning across horticulture, construction, mechanics or sustainability, and adapt lessons to individual needs with progress recorded.

The role is a 37-hour week with Safe Crisis Management training due within four weeks of starting, and a full driving

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in your discipline, such as horticulture, construction or mechanics.
• Experience delivering vocational training or practical skills.
• Experience in youth training and working with young people.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction in your specialist area (horticulture, construction, mechanics, sustainability or enterprise).
• Inspire young people through practical, hands-on vocational learning.
• Adapt learning to individual needs and assess progress.
• Prepare and deliver qualification work and record progress.
• Support young people to build confidence, independence and transferable skills.
• Maintain health and safety standards and safeguard young people and staff.
