Job summary

CareTech Community Services is seeking a motivated Vocational Instructor to teach young people with learning or behavioural difficulties. Small classes, with TA support, require flexible methods and strong behaviour management to maintain a safe, positive learning environment.

You will plan lessons, manage workload, apply cross-curricular learning, and bring patience, resilience and a commitment to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Able to proficiently use tools and safely instruct and manage students to use them.
• Plan and prioritise workload.
• Maintain judgement under pressure.
• Demonstrate flexibility and initiative.
• Learn and develop new skills.
• Cross-curricular work to integrate National curriculum into practical learning.
• Significant teaching experience and relevant qualifications.
• Knowledge of child care law and safeguarding issues.

Responsibilities

• Teach a range of young people with learning or behavioural difficulties.
• Apply different teaching methods to suit diverse learners within lessons.
• Maintain professional practices and safety, health, and education within the classroom.
