Job summary

Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd is seeking a compassionate Support Worker in Newtown, Powys. Salary £25,020 per year plus a £100 on-call allowance every eight weeks.

Full-time hours, typically 08:00-17:00 or 09:00-18:00. You will support vulnerable young people who may have experienced homelessness, trauma, or time in care, building positive relationships and delivering support plans and key-working sessions.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people or vulnerable adults.
• Understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed support.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive, resilient, and flexible approach.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with young people.
• Deliver support plans and key-working sessions.
• Support education, employment, training, and independent living.
• Help sustain tenancies and prevent homelessness.
• Complete risk assessments and respond to safeguarding concerns.
• Work alongside housing, social care, and other partner agencies.
