Job summary

YMCA DownsLink Group is seeking a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our teams at Gareth Stacey House and Lansworth House in Brighton. You will hold a caseload of residents and meet with them weekly to build a support plan and promote independent living.

The role is full-time, permanent, 37.5 hours per week, on-site with a seven-day rolling rota including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Experience in housing and safeguarding is welcome, and you will work within a trauma-informed

Qualifications

• Experience in housing or supported accommodation, ideally supporting young people with multiple and complex needs.
• Strong understanding of occupancy agreements, rent management, welfare benefits, and tenancy sustainment.
• Ability to manage arrears, ASB, and other non-compliance issues using appropriate approaches.
• Knowledge of housing legislation, safeguarding procedures, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Hold a caseload of residents and meet weekly to build a support plan.
• Promote rent payment culture and assist with budgeting and daily living skills.
• Maintain records and support progression towards independent living.
• Work within safeguarding and trauma-informed practice; lone-working may occur.
