Job summary

Bradford Council is seeking a Youth Support Worker Leader In Charge to support the delivery of the Youth Offer across Bradford District. The role requires working between 5pm–9pm on multiple evenings and some weekends, with base at the Bradford South Office and duties across the district.

Qualifications

• Must have JNC 3 qualification.
• Experience of working with young people in a variety of settings.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and regulations.
• Uses a range of basic IT packages.
• Committed to continual improvement and efficient service delivery.
• Keeps personal information safe and confidential.
• Understands issues affecting young people and how to support them.
• Understands group work skills and equality of opportunity.
• Able to deliver skills for effective teamwork and work as part of a team.
• Available to work multiple evenings per week.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and develop relationships with 11–19 year olds (up to 25 for disabilities).
• Work directly with young people to broaden horizons and engage in activities.
• Support design and development of youth work responses aligned with Youth Service cornerstones.
• Support Development and delivery of the Youth Offer informed by youth voice.
• Be ready to work multiple evenings per week and some weekends.
