Job summary

Bedspace is seeking a dedicated support worker to join our team in the Manchester area, covering Greater Manchester. You will work with young people and adults, supporting independent living skills and navigating education, employment, and benefits access.

Travel across the North West region is required; a valid driving licence and vehicle are essential. We value safeguarding knowledge and interpersonal skills to help service users thrive daily.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
• Full driving licence with access to a vehicle for business use.
• Willingness to travel within the North West region and Manchester area.
• Hold or work towards NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification.
• Computer literate with good Microsoft 365 understanding.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of service users across Manchester/Greater Manchester.
• Liaise with social workers, healthcare practitioners, DWP and police as needed.
• Write detailed reports assessing service users' independent living skills.
• Conduct weekly inspections of service users' properties.
• Support access to education/employment and independent living skills.
• Promote wellbeing and de-escalate challenging situations when they arise.
• Signpost to mental health, drug rehabilitation services, counselling and education.
