Bedspace Trust in Manchester is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team serving young people and adults with a range of needs in Greater Manchester. The role involves promoting independence, arranging education or employment access, and providing emotional support within a safeguarding-focused framework.

Travel across the North West is required and a full driving licence with access to a vehicle is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting people to gain independence.
• Must hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
• Thorough knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
• Willingness to travel across the North West region.
• Holder or willingness to work towards NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care.
• Computer literate with Microsoft 365.
• Good interpersonal skills.

Responsabilités

• Manage a caseload of Service Users across Manchester and Greater Manchester.
• Liaise with Social Workers, Healthcare practitioners, DWP, and the Police.
• Write detailed reports assessing service users' independent living skills.
• Complete weekly inspections of service users' properties.
• Support access to education and employment opportunities.
• Promote physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and de-escalate challenging situations.
• Signpost to services including mental health, drug rehabilitation, counselling and education.
