Job summary

Bedspace Outreach in Chester is seeking a part-time Outreach Support Worker to work 20 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 10:00–14:00) across the Chester area, with travel across Cheshire. You will assist service users to gain independence, liaise with social workers, healthcare staff and DWP, and help with education and employment access.

A full driving licence with business-use vehicle is essential; safeguarding knowledge and NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care are preferred or willingness to work

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with support needs, families or young people to gain independence.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.
• Prepared to travel in the North West region.
• Thorough knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
• Hold or be willing to work towards an NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification.
• Computer literate – Good understanding of Microsoft 365.
• Good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Working across the Chester area, managing a caseload of Service Users, helping to build independent living skills.
• Liaising with relevant professionals such as Social Workers, Healthcare practitioners, DWP, and the Police.
• Writing detailed reports which assess a service user’s independent living skills.
• Completely weekly inspections of Service User’s properties.
• Support with accessing and maintaining education/employment.
• Promote physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, de‑escalating challenging situations when they arise.
• Signposting to appropriate services as required, including mental health, drug rehabilitation services, counselling and education.
