Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting for a Youth Mentor in a Stockport SEMH setting. You will provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring to help pupils build confidence, resilience and positive behaviours.

Working with teachers and pastoral staff, you will support pupils during lessons and activities, implementing tailored behaviour plans. Start ASAP, 8:30am-3:45pm, pay from £97 per day.

Qualifications

• Education or teaching support experience is preferred.
• Youth work or mentoring experience.
• Care or support work background.
• Coaching or sports experience.
• Behaviour support experience.
• Experience in residential or community settings.
• Experience with children or young people with additional needs.

Responsibilities

Do you have experience supporting young people and a genuine passion for helping them overcome barriers and reach their potential?

We are working with a supportive and inclusive SEMH provision in Stockport that is looking for compassionate, resilient, and committed individuals to join their team and make a genuine difference to the lives of young people.

The pupils you will support may experience anxiety, ADHD, trauma, attachment difficulties, emotional dysregulation, low self-esteem, and behaviours that challenge. Many have faced significant barriers both inside and outside of education and require adults who are patient, consistent, understanding, and willing to see the person behind the behaviour.

The Role

As a Youth Mentor, you will provide personalised one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils develop confidence, emotional resilience, positive behaviours, and the skills they need to engage successfully with education. You will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where pupils feel understood, supported, and able to succeed.
