Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a compassionate Youth Mentor to support pupils in a Secondary SEMH school in Stockport. You will provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring to help pupils build confidence, emotional resilience and positive behaviours, working alongside teachers and pastoral staff.

Hours are 8:30am to 3:45pm with pay from £97 per day and ASAP start. Experience in education support or youth work, along with patience, calmness and reliability, is essential.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting and meaningful relationships with pupils.

• Implement individual behaviour support plans and targeted interventions.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Create a calm, safe and inclusive environment where every young person feels valued.

Do you have experience supporting young people and a genuine passion for helping them overcome barriers and reach their potential?

We are working with a supportive and inclusive SEMH provision in Stockport that is looking for compassionate, resilient, and committed individuals to join their team and make a genuine difference to the lives of young people.

The pupils you will support may experience anxiety, ADHD, trauma, attachment difficulties, emotional dysregulation, low self-esteem, and behaviours that challenge. Many have faced significant barriers both inside and outside of education and require adults who are patient, consistent, understanding, and willing to see the person behind the behaviour.

The Role

As a Youth Mentor, you will provide personalised one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils develop confidence, emotional resilience, positive behaviours, and the skills they need to engage successfully with education. You will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where pupils feel understood, supported, and able to succeed.
