Support Young People with Mental Health and Crisis De-escalation

Are you passionate about helping young people aged 14-18 improve their mental health and wellbeing? We are seeking a dedicated Youth Mental Health Worker to support young individuals through focused 1:1 sessions and structured crisis interventions.

Position Details

• Post No: 635
• Salary: GBP24,088 per annum F.T.E (pro-rata GBP11,881.24 for 18.25 hours/week)
• Working Pattern: 3 evenings per week (4:00pm - 10:00pm)
• Contract: Permanent
• Location: Young Persons Sanctuary, Milton Keynes Hospital Eaglestone Health Centre
• Area Covered: Milton Keynes

About the Young Persons Sanctuary

Our Sanctuary provides a safe, welcoming space outside school hours for young people in mental distress or crisis.

Role Overview

The Youth Mental Health Worker will assess needs, provide one-to-one support, and guide young people towards recovery and available services. You will be part of a team including other Youth Mental Health Workers, the Manager, and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver crisis-focused 1:1 support to young people in Milton Keynes, aligned with service and contract requirements.
• Assess needs and suitability for support, and facilitate access to appropriate services.
• Support volunteer workforce management in accordance with policies.
• Handle cash, health and safety, and data collection tasks as directed.
• Attend mandatory reflective practice sessions every six weeks.
