Job summary

Stepping Stone Projects in Manchester is seeking a Supported Housing Worker to join our UASC service. This part-time, 22.5-hour role focuses on practical housing management and person-centred support to help unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people build safe, independent lives in the UK.

You will develop support plans, carry out risk assessments, visit properties and coordinate with partner agencies to promote safeguarding, wellbeing and long-term housing stability.

Responsibilities

• Develop meaningful, trusting relationships that empower young people to feel safe, valued and motivated to achieve their aspirations.
• Deliver tailored support plans that develop independence, confidence and essential life skills, including budgeting, managing a home and accessing local services.
• Support young people to access education, training, healthcare and wider community opportunities.
• Manage accommodation-related responsibilities, helping young people understand their rights and responsibilities, sustain their accommodation and prepare for independent living.
• Advocate for young people and work closely with local authorities, education providers, health services and other partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
• Complete support plans, risk assessments and case records, while promoting safeguarding, wellbeing and the safety of both young people and their accommodation.
