Job summary

Bath & North East Somerset Council is seeking a compassionate Homeless Support Worker to provide housing-related support to individuals the local authority has accepted homeless duty for and placed in YMCA accommodation.

The role covers accommodation and community-based work, helping residents identify, secure and set up accommodation for independent living, and supporting young people aged 16-24 with low to medium support to maintain licenses/tenancies.

Qualifications

• Compassionate approach to supported housing
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and agencies
• Understanding safeguarding procedures and confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Identify and meet residents' personal, social, health, learning and employment needs.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure confidentiality.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and occupancy agreements for accommodation.
