Job summary

Acorn Training Ltd in Burton is seeking an Employment Youth Progression Coach to help young people build confidence, skills and resilience for progression toward employment, education or training. You will deliver engaging group learning and tailored one-to-one support to develop practical life and workplace skills.

You will enable progression through guidance on job search, CVs and interview prep, while coordinating with employers for sector tasters and workplace experiences.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or equivalent teaching/training qualification (Essential)
• GCSE Maths/English or equivalent (Essential)
• IT qualification and/or equivalent experience (Essential)

Responsibilities

• Design and facilitate engaging, interactive group sessions that build practical life, workplace and employability skills.
• Provide tailored one-to-one coaching and guidance, helping young people understand their strengths, identify goals, overcome barriers and develop realistic progression plans.
• Support young people to understand the world of work, develop confidence and workplace readiness, and build the skills and behaviours needed to secure and sustain employment.
• Deliver learning around CVs, applications, job search, interview preparation, transferable skills and understanding employer expectations.
• Work closely with Employer Partnership Managers to prepare participants for sector tasters and exposure to local employers.
• Collaborate with employers to ensure learning reflects local labour market needs and opportunities.
• Deliver wellbeing interventions and support for participants with childcare or caring responsibilities, confidence or wellbeing barriers.
• Identify additional learning, wellbeing and support needs and refer to local services and providers.
• Monitor engagement and progression, providing feedback and adapting learning accordingly.
• Maintain engaging learning materials and resources to support progression.
