Job summary

Reed in Partnership in Basildon is seeking a Careers Coach to help unemployed individuals move into sustainable employment. The role is office-based with travel across Basildon, Grays and Southend, offering a pro-rata salary for part time.

You will deliver one-to-one coaching, CV and interview support, plus outreach to DWP/JCP and local employers to create opportunities. Driving licence and willingness to travel are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer facing environment.
• Experience in a performance target driven environment.
• Willingness to travel locally and access to own vehicle.
• Minimum of 2 A-Levels or equivalent Level 3 Diploma.
• GCSE English Language at minimum grade B.
• Desirable: experience in fast-paced environments.
• Desirable: coaching and/or training experience.
• Degree or relevant qualification in psychology, sociology or social care.
• Level 3 or 4 NVQ in Advice & Guidance or Education & Training.
• Fluency in community languages.
• Technical skills to use technology for results and knowledge of welfare/benefits.
• Personal interest in career and self-development.
• Experience of coaching and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Identifying participants' skills and matching training, placements and volunteering opportunities.
• Providing CV, job-searching and interview skills support.
• Conducting outreach activities at community organisations and job fairs.
• Facilitating group training courses and workshops as needed.
• Employer engagement and stakeholder management with the JCP.
