Job Description:

Young Adult Team Leader (Full-Time) job vacancy.

Location: This role is ideally suited for candidates living within a 30-minute commute of Shepreth, including areas such as Cambridge, Stevenage, Baldock, Letchworth Garden City, and Saffron Walden.

Salary: £14.45 - £15.77 per hour / £30K - £32.8K per annum
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time (40 Hours per week).

Social Care & Education Jobs have been selected as the recruitment partner for a CQC Outstanding-rated provider of Specialist Education and Supported Living services. This organisation is renowned for its commitment to empowering young people with disabilities, including Autism, by offering high-quality education, care, and support that promote independence and personal growth.

This job vacancy would be working within their Supported Living Service for Young Adults with Learning Disabilities and additional complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Care Manager in the daily operations of the supported living service.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Support Workers and Senior Support Workers, ensuring high standards of care.
  • Conduct staff inductions, supervisions, and ongoing professional development, including supporting team members in achieving their QCF qualifications.
  • Oversee health and safety practices within the service.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and care records.
  • Participate in regular sleep-in duties, waking nights, and on-call responsibilities as required.
  • Support young adults in their transition from education to independent living, promoting life skills and independence.
Criteria:
  • Level 3 Diploma in Adult Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or team-leading role within a social care setting.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for mentoring, guiding, and inspiring a team.

Successful applicants will undergo pre-employment safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and all convictions, cautions, and reprimands (including those considered "spent") must be declared unless protected under DBS filtering rules.
