Job summary

RWE Offshore Wind invites motivated students to join a Year in Industry placement at the Sofia Offshore Windfarm, UK. You will gain hands-on experience in operations engineering, planning and executing projects, and collaborating with global colleagues.

Applicants should be pursuing Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, eligible for a year-in-industry placement, and able to travel to other sites. A strong letter of motivation and UK residence are important. National Vetting may apply.

Qualifications

  • Ongoing studies in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or a combined discipline.
  • Eligibility to complete a year in industry placement as part of your degree.
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate workloads independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites when required, with travel expenses covered.

Job description

  • Gain practical insight into the operational challenges faced during the early life of wind turbines.
  • Develop project management experience from planning through to execution.
  • Experience the importance of workplace culture and teamwork in an operational environment.
  • in a hands-on environment at a self-perform operated site.
  • Support statutory and annual routine campaigns as well as self-perform readiness.
  • Contribute to the close-out of warranty defects.
  • Assist with end-of-life and life-extension studies and major component exchanges.
  • Help manage the day-to-day activities of an offshore wind farm., Please refer to the UK Government's National Security Vetting guidance for further details and eligibility requirements.

This position is aimed at those currently studying who are eligible for a Year in Industry Placement. For those who will be graduating Summer 2027 we encourage you to apply for our graduate programme which will be advertised in January 2027. An offer of employment in this role may require holding active or ability to pass National Security vetting to SC level. Failure to obtain and or maintain National Security Vetting to SC may result in the removal of job offers and or existing employment.
