Job summary

RWE Offshore Wind offers a Year in Industry placement at Rampion Offshore Windfarm, Newhaven. You will split time between onsite (3 days/week) and home base, gaining hands-on experience across offshore wind operations while developing safety and reporting skills.

The program provides mentoring, structured development, and exposure to a global team, with comprehensive training including GWO and Wind Turbine Safety Rules.

Qualifications

  • Ongoing degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Eligible for Year in Industry placement as part of the degree.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organise workloads independently and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a diverse team and engaging with stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites; travel expenses covered.
  • Residence in the UK may be required for National Security Vetting considerations.

Job description

This position is aimed at those currently studying who are eligible for a Year in Industry Placement. For those who will be graduating Summer 2027 we encourage you to apply for our graduate programme which will be advertised in January 2027. An offer of employment in this role may require holding active or ability to pass National Security vetting to SC level. Failure to obtain and or maintain National Security Vetting to SC may result in the removal of job offers and or existing employment.

  • Ongoing degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline.
  • Eligibility to complete a year in industry placement as part of the degree programme.
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organise workloads independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Confidence working in a diverse team and engaging with a range of stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites when required, with travel expenses covered.
  • Motivation is crucial;
  • At least five years of residence in the UK due to potential National Security Vetting requirements.
  • Hybrid model meaning 3 days per week onsite at Rampion Offshore Windfarm, Newhaven, rest can be home base
