Job summary

RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd. offers a Year in Industry placement at our Sofia Offshore Windfarm, Grimsby, with a 12‑month, full‑time commitment starting July 2027.

You will gain hands-on experience in offshore operations engineering, supporting day‑to‑day windfarm activities and project planning. You will work within a diverse team, develop project management skills, and engage with stakeholders while traveling to other sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • Ongoing studies in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a combined engineering discipline.
  • Eligibility to complete a year in industry placement as part of the degree programme.
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate workloads independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Confidence working in a diverse team environment and engaging with a range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Gain practical insight into the operational challenges faced during the early life of wind turbines.
  • Develop project management experience from planning through to execution.
  • Experience the importance of workplace culture and teamwork in an operational environment.
  • Support statutory and annual routine campaigns as well as self-perform readiness.
  • Contribute to the close-out of warranty defects.
  • Assist with end-of-life and life-extension studies and major component exchanges.
  • Help manage the day-to-day activities of an offshore wind farm.

  • Ongoing studies in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a combined engineering discipline.
  • Eligibility to complete a year in industry placement as part of the degree programme.

  • Willingness to travel to other sites when required, with travel expenses covered.

This position is aimed at those currently studying who are eligible for a Year in Industry Placement. For those who will be graduating Summer 2027 we encourage you to apply for our graduate programme which will be advertised in January 2027.
