Job summary

RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd. is offering a Year in Industry placement within Operations Engineering at Rampion Offshore Windfarm in Newhaven.

The role combines three days onsite with remote work, focusing on safety, reporting, and continuous improvement across the wind farm. You will work with multiple stakeholders, analyse turbine faults, document risks, and lead a key improvement project while gaining experience across offshore operations.

Qualifications

  • Ongoing degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Eligibility to complete a year in industry as part of degree.
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organise workloads independently and meet deadlines.
  • Confidence working in a diverse team with multiple stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites; travel expenses covered.
  • Motivation; cover letter required and alignment with studies/career plans.
  • At least five years of residence in the UK due to National Security Vetting requirements.

RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd. To start as soon as possible, full time, fixed term (12 months) Hybrid model meaning 3 days per week onsite at Rampion Offshore Windfarm, Newhaven, rest can be home base

About the role
  • Gain experience across the full scope of offshore wind farm operations, including safety management and reporting.
  • Work with stakeholders across the business and within the joint venture partnership.
  • Analyse turbine faults and recommend modifications to maximise output and performance.

  • Lead a high-profile continuous improvement project, including budget, contract and contractor management.
  • Help maintain and operate the wind farm efficiently to power hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses across the UK.
  • Contribute to team decisions and deliver a tangible impact on the business.
Job requirements and experience
  • Ongoing degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline.
  • Eligibility to complete a year in industry placement as part of the degree programme.
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organise workloads independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Confidence working in a diverse team and engaging with a range of stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites when required, with travel expenses covered.

This position is aimed at those currently studying who are eligible for a Year in Industry Placement. For those who will be graduating Summer 2027 we encourage you to apply for our graduate programme which will be advertised in January 2027.

An offer of employment in this role may require holding active or ability to pass National Security vetting to SC level. Failure to obtain and or maintain National Security Vetting to SC may result in the removal of job offers and or existing employment.
