Job summary

Distinction Education Ltd is seeking a confident SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 class at a primary school in Kidderminster, ensuring pupils’ learning, engagement and confidence. You will work with the class teacher and SENCO, delivering targeted interventions and helping pupils prepare for the move to secondary school.

Qualifications

• Experience as SEN Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant preferred.
• Experience in school environments is desirable but not essential; candidates from related support roles welcome.

Responsibilities

• Supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
• Working individually with pupils and in small groups.
• Delivering targeted learning interventions.
• Helping pupils stay engaged with classroom learning.
• Supporting literacy and numeracy.
• Encouraging independence and confidence.
• Assisting pupils with transition planning to secondary school.
• Collaborating with teachers and the school's SENCO.
