Job summary

Smile Education Recruitment is currently recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a primary school in Redditch on a part-time, long-term contract for the full academic year.

The role involves delivering intervention groups, supporting pupils with varying abilities, and helping create a positive learning environment under the direction of the class teacher. DBS checks are required prior to appointment.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (ideal).
  • If no qualification, a minimum of 1 year’s experience working in a school is essential.
  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant in a primary school setting or SEN setting.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

  • Working within the nest with other senior members of staff.
  • Deliver intervention group work to support attainment and progress.
  • Provide classroom support under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Support pupils with varying abilities, including those needing additional support.
  • Help maintain a positive, engaging learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other teaching assistants.

Location: Redditch

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Part time, long-term – full academic year

Pay: £60-80

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30-12:00

We are currently recruiting a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time, long-term basis at a welcoming primary school in Redditch

This SEN Teaching Assistant role will run for the full academic year and offers an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive, values-led school environment that places pupils at the heart of everything it does.

The school is a friendly, inclusive primary school with a strong community ethos. Staff work closely together to ensure pupils are supported academically, socially, and emotionally. The school promotes high expectations, positive behaviour, and a nurturing learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
