Job summary

Academics are recruiting for a Year 6 class teacher to cover maternity leave in a welcoming primary school in the Staffordshire Moorlands. The role starts February 2027 and offers a longer-term supply placement within a supportive school community.

You will deliver engaging lessons, support SATs preparation, monitor progress and collaborate with staff and parents to foster a positive, high-expectation learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold QTS.
• Recent experience teaching in a UK primary school.
• Experience teaching Year 6 or strong understanding of upper KS2.
• Good knowledge of the primary curriculum.
• Ability to confidently prepare pupils for SATs.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• Organised, adaptable and committed.
• Provide consistency throughout the maternity cover period.

Academics are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in the Staffordshire Moorlands for a dedicated teacher to take on a Year 6 maternity cover position starting February 2027.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who enjoys the energy and responsibility of Year 6 and wants to become part of a supportive school community through a longer-term supply placement.

The school is looking for someone who can provide consistency, enthusiasm and high-quality teaching while their permanent teacher is on maternity leave.

The Role

As the Year 6 Class Teacher, you will take responsibility for creating an engaging, purposeful and supportive learning environment for pupils as they prepare for their transition to secondary school.

You will be responsible for:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the Year 6 curriculum
