Job summary

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• Strong experience teaching within KS2, ideally Year 6.
• Good understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs requirements.
• Excellent classroom management and high expectations.

Responsibilities

• Teach a Year 6 class across the primary curriculum.
• Plan and deliver engaging, purposeful lessons with clear objectives.
• Prepare pupils for KS2 SATs and the transition to secondary education.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress to inform teaching and interventions.
• Provide challenge, intervention and support to ensure progress.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort and presentation.
• Create a positive classroom environment where pupils are confident and motivated to learn.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers where appropriate.
