Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Preston is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 class in a primary school, focusing on raising attainment and organising targeted Maths and English interventions for small groups, ahead of SATs.

The successful candidate will have KS2 experience, strong literacy and numeracy, and be able to lead small-group learning, collaborating with teachers to help pupils reach their full potential.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• KS2 experience.
• Confident delivering Maths and English interventions.
• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted Maths and English interventions to small groups.
• Support pupil progress and attainment across the Year 6 curriculum.
• Assist the class teacher and contribute to SATs preparation.
• Encourage independence, resilience and confidence in learning.
• Collaborate with the teaching team to raise attainment.
