About your role as a Year 6 Class Teacher

  • Deliver a broad and balanced curriculum in line with School policy.
  • Teach from planned objectives, which take account of differentiation to achieve progression in pupils’ learning, setting clear targets for pupils’ learning based on prior attainment.
  • Set, mark, and monitor the pupils’ assigned work including homework.
  • Fulfil the School’s and National assessment, recording and reporting system as appropriate.
  • Manage, with support, the work of Learning Support Assistants and other helpers in class to enhance children’s learning.
  • Take part fully in primary school duties such as supervising playtimes, taking whole school assemblies and class assemblies.
