Job summary

Desian Education is seeking a dedicated Year 6 teacher for a welcoming primary school in Bootle. This is a full-time, long-term role starting January 2027, offering stability and a chance to guide pupils in their final year of primary education as they transition to secondary school.

The successful candidate will plan, deliver, and assess lessons across the National Curriculum, with a focus on SATs preparation and targeted support to help each pupil reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Must hold QTS and DBS clearance.
• Experience teaching in Key Stage 2/Year 6.
• Experience preparing pupils for SATs is desirable.
• Strong behaviour management and classroom organisation.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for a Year 6 class.
• Plan, deliver and assess lessons aligned to the National Curriculum.
• Prepare pupils for SATs and support them to meet targets.
• Deliver engaging and challenging lessons across the curriculum.
• Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and implement targeted interventions.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, colleagues and senior leaders.

Desian Education are delighted to be recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 6 Teacher on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Bootle. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Key Stage 2 practitioner looking to secure a full-time, long-term teaching position from January 2027. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils through their final year of primary education, helping them achieve their full potential and preparing them for a successful transition to secondary school.

Key Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for a Year 6 class
• Planning, delivering and assessing lessons in line with the National Curriculum
• Preparing pupils for SATs and supporting them to achieve their individual targets
• Delivering engaging and challenging lessons across the curriculum
• Creating a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment
• Monitoring pupil progress and implementing targeted interventions where required
• Working closely with teaching assistants, colleagues and senior leaders

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Full Enhanced DBS
• Has experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
• Confident delivering the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum
• Experience preparing pupils for SATs is desirable
• Has strong behaviour management and classroom organisation skills
• Demonstrates a positive, nurturing and professional approach
• Is reliable, committed and able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents

£120 - £232 per day (M1-M6), dependent on experience.
