Job summary

Desian Education are recruiting a Year 5 Teacher for a welcoming primary school in Bootle. This full-time, long-term position starts January 2027 and includes delivering engaging lessons to Upper Key Stage 2 and supporting pupils to progress within a thriving school community.

The ideal candidate will hold QTS, have KS2/Year 5 experience, strong behaviour management and a collaborative approach with staff and parents. DBS is required. Desian Education offers competitive pay and ongoing support.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5.
• Confident delivering the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum.
• Strong behaviour management and classroom organisation.

Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for a Year 5 class.
• Plan, deliver and assess lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
• Create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and implement interventions.
• Prepare pupils for the increasing academic expectations of Upper Key Stage 2.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, colleagues and senior leaders.

Desian Education are delighted to be recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Bootle. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Key Stage 2 practitioner looking to secure a full-time, long-term teaching position from January 2027. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons, challenge and inspire pupils as they progress through Upper Key Stage 2, and contribute positively to a thriving school community.

Key Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for a Year 5 class
• Planning, delivering and assessing lessons in line with the National Curriculum
• Creating a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment
• Monitoring pupil progress and implementing appropriate interventions where required
• Preparing pupils for the increasing academic expectations of Upper Key Stage 2
• Working closely with teaching assistants, colleagues and senior leaders

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Full Enhanced DBS
• Has experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5
• Confident delivering the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum
• Has strong behaviour management and classroom organisation skills
• Demonstrates a positive, nurturing and professional approach
• Is reliable, committed and able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents

£120 - £232 per day (M1-M6), dependent on experience.
