Job summary

Aspire People Limited are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor / Teaching Assistant to work with two Year 6 pupils in North Manchester. You will provide personalised 1:1 support to help each pupil engage with learning and manage behaviours throughout the school day.

The role requires a calm, patient approach, with the ability to build trusted relationships and adapt strategies to each pupil's needs. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity within a partnered school.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour.
• Knowledge of SEND, SEMH, or emotional regulation.
• Experience providing 1:1 support.
• Calm, patient approach with strong relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 support to two Year 6 pupils.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Help pupils remain engaged and access classroom learning.
• Encourage routines and school expectations.
• Support pupils during frustration or heightened emotions.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and resilience.
• Encourage positive relationships with staff and peers.
• Work closely with class teachers and the wider school team.
• Adapt support strategies to meet individual needs.
