Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor / Teaching Assistant to work with two Year 6 pupils in North Manchester. You will provide individualised support throughout the school day, split between the two pupils with different behavioural and engagement needs.

The role requires building relationships, supporting emotional regulation, and helping pupils access learning. A background in youth work, teaching assistance, or sport coaching is beneficial, with a calm, patient

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour (SEND/SEMH).
• Experience providing 1:1 support in a school environment.
• Background in teaching assistance, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, or behaviour support.
• Calm, patient approach with the ability to build trust and maintain boundaries.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work independently and within a school team.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 support to two Year 6 pupils.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Help pupils access classroom learning and follow routines.
• Adapt support strategies to meet individual needs.
