Job summary

Aspire People Limited is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor / Teaching Assistant to work with two Year 6 pupils at a North Manchester school. You will provide individualised support throughout the school day, balancing two pupils with different behaviour needs and learning approaches.

The role focuses on emotional regulation, classroom engagement, and building strong relationships with pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour.
• Knowledge of SEND/SEMH and emotional regulation strategies.
• Experience providing 1:1 support in a school setting.
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach to difficult situations.

Responsibilities

• Providing consistent 1:1 support to two Year 6 pupils.
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Helping pupils remain engaged and access classroom learning.
• Encouraging pupils to follow routines and school expectations.
• Supporting pupils during periods of frustration or heightened emotions.
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and resilience.
• Encouraging positive relationships with staff and peers.
• Working closely with class teachers and the wider school team.
• Adapting support strategies to meet individual needs.
