Job summary

TimePlan Education is seeking a Year 5 Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Esher to work mornings, 8:30am–1:15pm, Monday to Friday. You will support a Year 5 class both 1:1 and in small groups, helping pupils reach their potential academically, socially and emotionally.

The ideal candidate has experience with primary-aged children, strong communication, and a proactive approach. TA qualifications are desirable but not essential, and the role offers a supportive school community.

• Experience with KS2/Year 5 pupils.
• Positive, patient and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build relationships with pupils and staff.
• Confidence supporting the primary curriculum.

Responsibilities

Year 5 Teaching Assistant (Mornings Only)

The Role

Working alongside the class teacher, you will support pupils in Year 5 to help them reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with Key Stage 2 children and wants to make a positive impact within the classroom.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils during lessons on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assisting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging learning activities.
• Helping pupils stay focused, motivated, and confident in their learning.
• Providing additional support for children who may require extra guidance.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting an inclusive learning environment.
• Supporting children's social and emotional development.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience working with primary-aged children.
• A positive, patient, and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Confidence supporting learning across the primary curriculum.
• Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
