Job summary

Trust Education are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our partner primary schools in Barnsley. You will support teaching and learning across the classroom, small groups and individual pupils, helping to raise attainment while maintaining high safeguarding standards.

You should have experience with primary-aged children, good English and maths, strong communication skills, and a patient, reliable, team-focused approach. An enhanced DBS check will be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning in the classroom and with small groups or individual pupils.
  • Assist pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Help prepare and organise learning resources and classroom activities.
  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils with additional learning or SEND needs as required.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress to teaching staff.
  • Supervise pupils during lessons, breaks, trips and school activities.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, staff and parents/carers where appropriate.
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
