Job summary

Trust Education Limited in Barnsley is seeking a dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school on a full-time basis. You will support learning across KS2, delivering interventions and helping pupils build confidence.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a UK primary school.
  • Teaching Assistant qualification such as CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 desirable.
  • Good understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Positive, proactive and reliable approach to supporting children's learning.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2 classrooms.
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to help pupils reach learning goals.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating an engaging, positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils of mixed abilities, adapting learning where appropriate.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Follow school safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times.
  • Use initiative while working effectively as part of the wider school team.

KS2 Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a UK primary school.
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (such as CACHE Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable but not essential with suitable experience.
  • A good understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • A positive, proactive and reliable approach to supporting children's learning.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
