Job description

Are you a dedicated and experienced Primary Teacher looking for a rewarding teaching opportunity with no planning responsibilities?

A welcoming First School in Evesham is seeking a confident and experienced Year 2/3 Teacher to join their team on a fixed-term basis. This role involves teaching the school's mixed Year 2/3 class, starting next month and continuing until December. This is a non-planning role, allowing you to focus on delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupils' learning and development.

This role is ideal for an enthusiastic and committed Primary Teacher who has experience teaching Key Stage 1 and is confident supporting pupils across a mixed Year 2/3 class. The successful candidate will follow existing planning and work closely with the school's teaching team to provide a consistent, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where all pupils are encouraged to achieve their full potential.

As a Year 2/3 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality teaching and learning across the mixed‑age classroom, supporting pupils' academic, social, and emotional development. With planning provided, you can focus on delivering purposeful lessons, assessing pupil progress, and adapting learning activities to meet the needs of pupils across both year groups.

As a Year 2/3 Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering engaging, high‑quality lessons to pupils within the mixed Year 2/3 class.
  • Following existing lesson plans and adapting learning activities where appropriate to meet pupils' individual needs.
  • Teaching core subjects, including English, Mathematics, and Science, alongside the wider primary curriculum.
  • Differentiating lessons and activities to support pupils across both year groups and a range of abilities.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports effective learning.
  • Assessing and monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to support learning and development.
  • Maintaining high expectations for pupil achievement, behaviour, and engagement.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively and promoting positive learning habits.
  • Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and personal development.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils to encourage confidence and independence.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team to support pupil progress.
  • Ensuring continuity of learning by following the school's curriculum and established classroom routines.
  • Maintaining a safe, organised, and well‑managed learning environment.
  • Supporting the school's policies, procedures, and commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

To be successful in this Year 2/3 Teacher role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Previous experience teaching within a Primary School setting.
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2, with Year 3 experience being advantageous.
  • A good understanding of the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 curricula.
  • Experience delivering engaging lessons and adapting teaching to meet individual pupil needs.
  • The ability to confidently support pupils within a mixed‑age classroom.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain high expectations for behaviour.
  • A patient, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach to teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
  • A proactive and professional approach to supporting children's learning and development.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.

Working as a Year 2/3 Teacher for Flourish Education also offers you excellent benefits, including:

  • Competitive daily pay rates, from £174 to £240, based on previous pay scale and experience.
