Step Teachers is seeking a Year 2 Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Mossley, Ashton-under-Lyne. The role involves supporting pupils in Year 2 on a one-to-one and small-group basis, assisting the class teacher, and promoting literacy, numeracy and KS1 readiness.

The ideal candidate will have experience with primary-aged children, strong communication skills, patience, and an adaptable approach to support a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with primary-aged children is desirable.
• Experience within a school or educational setting is advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Understanding of Key Stage 1 learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils within a Year 2 classroom on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities.
• Help develop pupils' literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
• Support children preparing for Key Stage 1 assessments.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Assist with classroom preparation and organisation.
• Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
