Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking a Year 2 Teacher for a large primary school in Uxbridge. The role is full-time, long-term temporary, starting after October half-term 2026, with responsibilities across Year 2 and collaboration with parallel teachers.

The successful candidate will deliver a broad curriculum, support KS1 learners, and contribute to a positive, inclusive school environment in Outer London pay scale terms.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
• Experience in KS1 and Year 2 preferred.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging Year 2 lessons.
• Commitment to safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Year 2 curriculum.
• Teach English, maths and foundation subjects.
• Support phonics, reading and the development of key literacy and numeracy skills.
• Assess pupil progress and adapt lessons to meet different learning needs.
• Maintain positive behaviour and clear classroom routines.
• Work closely with the parallel Year 2 teachers to share planning, resources and ideas.
• Support pupils’ academic progress, confidence and personal development.
