Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is assisting a welcoming primary school in Slough, Berkshire, hire a Year 2 Teacher for KS1. This full-time, permanent role starts ASAP and offers MPS/UPS fringe-area pay. You will lead a Year 2 class, deliver a broad curriculum, and prepare pupils for KS1 SATs and progression to KS2.

Qualifications

• UK teaching qualification with QTS.
• Experience teaching Year 2 within Key Stage 1.
• Familiarity with Read Write Inc. or Little Wandle phonics.
• Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills.
• Legal right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons for Year 2.
• Prepare pupils for KS1 assessments and moderation; track progress in reading, writing, and maths.
• Create an inclusive classroom culture with high expectations and pupil wellbeing.
• Collaborate with KS1 team, SENCO, and teaching assistants to support SEND/EAL.
