Role Overview

A caring and inclusive primary school in Slough is seeking a passionate, inspiring, and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join their Key Stage 1 team ASAP. In this pivotal role, you will lead a vibrant Year 2 class, creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment that prepares pupils for Key Stage 1 statutory assessments (SATS) and their eventual transition to Key Stage 2. You will deliver an engaging, broad-based curriculum that fosters literacy, numeracy, and a lifelong love of learning. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of a diverse Year 2 class.
• Prepare pupils effectively for Key Stage 1 assessments and moderation, tracking individual progress across reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Create an inclusive classroom culture where high expectations, positive behavior management, and pupil wellbeing are prioritized.
• Collaborate closely with the Key Stage 1 team, SENCO, and teaching assistants to provide targeted support for pupils with SEND or EAL needs.
• Maintain open, positive communication with parents and carers to support pupil development and home-school engagement.

Key Requirements

• Recognized UK teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
• Proven experience teaching within Key Stage 1, with a strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and assessment framework.
• Strong proficiency in early literacy approaches (e.g., systematic synthetic phonics like Read Write Inc. or Little Wandle).
