Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a Year 1 Teacher to join a Primary School in Knowsley on a long-term basis starting ASAP. The role involves delivering KS1 lessons, supporting a class of 28 with a one-to-one SEND pupil, and delivering the Phonics scheme Essential Letters and Sounds.

Year 1 Teacher

We are recruiting for a Year 1 Teacher for a Primary School in Knowsley to work on a long-term basis starting ASAP.

The Year 1 Teacher role is to start ASAP,there are 28 children in the class, and one full-time TA is working on a one-to-one basis with a SEND child.

The school would like someone who has previous KS1 teaching experience and someone who has good behaviour management skills. With this year 1 Teacher role, they are looking for someone who is also confident to deliver the Phonics scheme Essential Letters and Sounds.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching the children in class and ensuring they complete their work to a high standard
  • Guiding children through the curriculum, marking work and setting homework tasks
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Upholding the school's behaviour and safeguarding policies
  • Promoting an accepting, inclusive classroom where every student feels they belong

Requirements or Skills:

  • A teaching qualification with QTS
  • Recent teaching experience in a school or education setting
  • Excellent knowledge of the national curriculum
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management
  • Exceptional organisational skills to keep on top of marking and lesson planning
