Job summary

Flourish Education in the UK is seeking a Year 1 Teacher for a primary school based in Tewkesbury. You will take full class responsibility, creating a safe, engaging learning environment and supporting pupils to make strong progress through the academic year.

Job description

We are recruiting for a Year 1 Teacher to work in a primary school based in Tewkesbury. This Year 1 Teacher role will involve taking full responsibility for the class, creating a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment and ensuring pupils make strong progress throughout the academic year.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of class teaching, including planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing pupil progress, marking work and adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners. The role will involve working closely with the wider school team to ensure high standards of teaching, learning and behaviour are maintained.

This role is full-time and long-term, starting in October and continuing until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will have strong experience teaching within Key Stage 1 (KS1), ideally with experience teaching Year 1, and will be confident taking full class teaching responsibility.

Required Skills and Experience for this Year 1 Teacher Role:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.

• Have good curriculum knowledge of Key Stage 1 (KS1).

• Have experience teaching within a primary school, ideally within Year 1.

• Be confident taking full class teaching responsibility.

• Have experience planning and delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum.

• Have experience assessing and marking pupil work and using assessment to inform future planning.

• Be confident managing classroom behaviour and creating a positive learning environment.

• Have recent UK school-based teaching experience.

• Have a DBS registered on the Update Service or one that was issued within the last 12 months.

• Be able to provide a minimum of two excellent references.
