Job summary

Teaching Personnel is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Poulton-le-Fylde to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant (or higher) to support a Year 1 class on a full-time basis.

This is a long-term role in a supportive environment. The successful candidate will provide general classroom support while leading phonics sessions and targeted interventions to help pupils build confidence and achieve their potential.

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher.
• Has experience working within a primary school setting.
• Confident supporting early reading, phonics and literacy development.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Is proactive, engaging and passionate about supporting young learners.
• Can commit to the role for the remainder of the academic year.

Responsibilities

• Providing general classroom support within a Year 1 class.
• Delivering phonics sessions and targeted intervention groups.
• Supporting children on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
• Assisting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and participation in learning.
• Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to the class teacher.
