Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is recruiting a KS1 Teaching Assistant to support a primary class in Penwortham.

This full-time role involves assisting the class teacher, supporting individual and small-group learning, and helping with reading, phonics, and early maths development. The successful candidate will have classroom experience, a Level 2 or 3 TA qualification desirable, strong communication, and a proactive, flexible approach.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children within a classroom setting is essential.
• A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable but not essential.
• Good understanding of the KS1 curriculum and child development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A positive, proactive, and flexible approach to supporting learning.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum.
• Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and build confidence.
• Assisting with phonics, reading, writing, and early maths development.
• Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil participation.
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Contributing to pupil progress through effective classroom support.
