Job summary

Teaching Personnel are partnering with a welcoming primary school in Poulton-le-Fylde to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant (or higher) to support a Year 1 class on a full-time basis. This long-term role runs until the end of the academic year (July 2027) with an immediate start, offering stability and the chance to make a real impact in early literacy.

The successful candidate will lead phonics sessions and targeted interventions, monitor pupil progress, and work closely with the class

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher.
• Experience working in a primary school setting.
• Confident supporting early reading, phonics and literacy development.

Responsibilities

• Provide general classroom support within a Year 1 class.
• Deliver phonics sessions and targeted intervention groups.
• Support children one-to-one and in small groups.
• Assist the class teacher with delivering engaging lessons.
• Encourage positive behaviour and participation in learning.
• Monitor pupil progress and feed back to the class teacher.
