Job summary

Jewson in Barnstaple (EX31 1HN) is seeking a Yard Sales Supervisor to lead a busy branch team. You will welcome customers, oversee stock and deliveries, and coordinate forklift loading and route planning for drivers.

You’ll develop product knowledge, drive high service standards, manage the yard, support the management team, and ensure safety. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday with Saturday mornings on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service is preferred.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and work with a team.
• Willingness to learn product lines and assist customers effectively.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers to the branch and engage with their projects.
• Develop knowledge of product lines to offer informed advice.
• Ensure the team is set up for the day, including driver coordination and route planning.
• Assist with processing and preparing orders; load/unload vehicles with forklift training provided.
• Support management and act as keyholder when needed.
• Check deliveries and report missing or damaged stock; maintain warehouse/yard stock counts.
• Keep the branch tidy and uphold Health & Safety standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues to identify opportunities for improvement.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Yard Sales Supervisor in our Barnstaple (EX31 1HN) branch!

This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday7.00am – 4.30pm and every other Saturday at 8.00am – 12.00pm

WhatYou’llBe Doing

• Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects
• Get to know our product lines so you can offer help and advice
• Ensure your team are set up for the day, including delivery drivers with route planning
• Help to process and prepare customer orders - load and unload customer and supplier vehicles using a forklift truck to minimise manual handling (training will be provided!)
• Work as a direct support the management team and act as a keyholder when needed
• Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products
• Maintain stock levels in both the warehouse and yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts
• Keep the branch looking clean and tidy and make Health & Safety a priority
• Work with colleagues to suggest opportunities for improvement
