Job summary

Jewson in Plymouth is seeking a part-time Yard Sales Advisor to deliver friendly, efficient service on the yard, counter and shop floor. You’ll handle loading/unloading, assist customers, and help grow sales while maintaining safety and standards.

This role offers flexible hours Mon-Fri with every other Sat morning, a supportive team, and opportunities to develop product knowledge and customer relationships within a busy merchant environment.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge every customer and ascertain needs to deliver quick, efficient service.
• Ask open questions to understand current and future requirements and support all needs.
• Maintain high standards across yard, counter and shop floor.
• Operate machinery safely and perform offloading, picking, packing, restocking and loading vehicles.
• Support initiatives to increase sales, margin and service as required.
• Develop knowledge of core and specialist product lines to meet customer needs.
• Loading and unloading vehicles manually and with a forklift (training provided).

We are recruiting for a Yard Sales Advisor to join our friendly Jewson branch in Plymouth, Richmond Walk PL1 4LL.

This is a part-time role (30 hrs a week) with flexible hours Monday-Friday and the requirement of every other Saturday from 08:00-12:00.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Acknowledge every customer, ascertain their needs and wow them with quick and efficient service
• Ask open questions to build strong relationships and understand our customers current and future requirements so we can support all their needs
• Maintain excellent standards across the yard, counter and shop floor
• Operate machinery safely and carry out key operational activities such as offloading, picking, packing, restocking and loading vehicles
• Support business initiatives to increase sales, margin & service as required
• Continually develop your knowledge of core and specialist product lines to meet customer needs
• Loading and unloading vehicles both manually and with a forklift (training will be provided)
