Job summary

STARK Building Materials UK at the Falkirk (FK2 9EF) branch is seeking a Yard Sales Assistant to join our full-time team. You will greet customers, assess their needs and deliver quick, friendly service while maintaining yard, counter and shop floor standards.

Working hours are Monday–Friday 7:30am–5:00pm and every other Saturday 8:00am–12:00pm. You’ll assist with loading/unloading, operate equipment safely, and support sales initiatives.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills with ability to assess needs.
• Ability to build relationships and understand customer requirements.
• Comfort with loading/offloading and operating within yard and shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge every customer and provide quick, efficient service.
• Ask open questions to understand current and future needs.
• Maintain standards across yard, counter and shop floor.
• Operate machinery safely and perform offloading, picking, packing, restocking and loading vehicles.
• Support initiatives to increase sales, margin & service.
• Develop knowledge of core and specialist product lines.
• Loading/unloading vehicles; forklift training provided.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Yard Sales Assistant at our Falkirk (FK2 9EF) branch!

This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday 7:30am – 5:00pm, and every other Saturday from 8:00am -12:00pm.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Acknowledge every customer, ascertain their needs and wow them with quick and efficient service
• Ask open questions to build strong relationships and understand our customers current and future requirements so we can support all their needs
• Maintain excellent standards across the yard, counter and shop floor
• Operate machinery safely and carry out key operational activities such as offloading, picking, packing, restocking and loading vehicles
• Support business initiatives to increase sales, margin & service as required
• Continually develop your knowledge of core and specialist product lines to meet customer needs
• Loading and unloading vehicles both manually and with a forklift (training will be provided)
