Job summary

Veolia in Hinckley is recruiting a hands-on Yard Operative to wash and maintain trucks, trailers and fleet vehicles, keep the yard clean, and support loading and unloading activities.

You will work 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, in all weather conditions, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability and teamwork, helping local communities and protecting the environment while growing within our established company.

• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Reliable and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean trucks, trailers and fleet vehicles exterior thoroughly.
• Perform pressure washing and detailing of vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard and surrounding areas.
• Remove debris, litter and waste from the premises.
• General yard maintenance including sweeping and minor repairs.
• Follow health and safety protocols at all times.

Salary: £35,100 per annum, plus Veolia benefits & Pension
Hours: 45 hours per week - Monday to Friday 06:00 - 15:30

What you'll be doing;

• Wash and clean trucks, trailers, and commercial vehicles exterior thoroughly
• Perform pressure washing and detailing of vehicles
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard and surrounding areas
• Remove debris, litter, and waste from the premises
• Perform general yard maintenance including sweeping, tidying, and minor repairs
• Ensure all equipment and cleaning supplies are properly maintained
• Report any vehicle damage or maintenance issues to management
• Follow health and safety protocols at all times
• Loading and unloading: Handle materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring they are safely loaded and unloaded from vehicles and stored in designated areas

What we're looking for;

Essential:

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labour
• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated

Desirable:

• Previous experience in vehicle washing or yard maintenance
• Class 2 (Cat C) licence would be advantageous
• Up to date CPC / Digi card would be advantageous
